3. DiCaprio Busts His Hand - Django Unchained

It's still a travesty that Leonardo DiCaprio didn't win an Oscar for his performance as Calvin Candie in Django Unchained. He is stunning and thoroughly, believably detestable as the racist, animalistic monster, and it is his escalation to full on monstrosity when he learns of Django's deception that really crowns the performance.

And the actor's commitment to the scene was such that he wasn't put off by a fairly dangerous accident at a crucial point. As Candie explains why black people are supposedly genetically predisposed to being slaves and servants, his anger mounts and culminates with him smashing his hand down on the table.

Unfortunately for him, his hand thump was a little over-zealous and he smashed a glass, cutting his hand for real quite badly. Ever the pro, DiCaprio simply picks some glass out of the wound, looks at the blood and continues.
