11 Changes The MCU Wishes It Could Make
1. The Longevity Of Its Biggest Characters
Marvel's old guard of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye can't keep going in their current form forever. If the contractual situation with the actors who are playing them doesn't force change, the age of these stars will.
The likes of Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans are under contract until Avengers 4, but their long-term MCU futures are murky, and this gives the studio a massive headache to contend with.
Do they recast these iconic roles and face the stigma that would draw, or do they keep the characters around in the background while new heroes take their place in the frontline? There'll probably be a temptation to reboot the entire universe at some point, as a result of these actors bowing out, and that will be a huge gamble.
This is out of Marvel's control, but you can bet it would change the situation if it had the power to. Based on the success Downey Jr, Evans et al has brought the studio, it would likely have no problem with them playing these heroes until they're physically incapable, and many of the fans are with it on that.
