11 Changes The MCU Wishes It Could Make

5. Better Handling Of Love Stories

Marvel Studios does a lot of thing well, from large-scale action set pieces to comedy, but love stories are rarely one of them. Romantic subplots usually feel tacked on, and that's shame considering how many films they've had to build relationships up.

The worst offender by far is Thor's coupling with Jane Foster which was never fleshed out despite the pair sharing plenty of screen time. No doubt Marvel was aware of this, as it simply threw their union away somewhere between The Dark World and Ragnarok.

Is anyone really feeling the Black Widow-Hulk connection, or Captain America-Sharon Carter? The latter certainly wasn't earned and only cheapened his supposed affections for her relative, Peggy.

Sure, there are notable exceptions. Tony Stark and Pepper Potts share genuine chemistry some of the time at least and so do Star-Lord and Gamora, but these relationships are the minority.

Marvel has had no such trouble delivering fan-pleasing bromances, camaraderie or familial relationships, but it could have invested more time into the MCU's love stories to make them feel like more than an afterthought.
