11 Deaths In Kids' Movies That Made You Want To Cry Like A Little Girl

7. Thomas - My Girl

My Girl spins a beautiful yarn about the friendship between Vada, a gloomy girl obsessed with death, and Thomas, a nerdy boy allergic to everything. Starring Macaulay Culkin when he was still cute (sorry, Macaulay) and Anna Chlumsky (you know her from Veep and Hannibal), My Girl follows these two exceptionally adorable misfits coming of age and finding love in one another. Unfortunately, as with all coming-of-age tales, there€™s always got to be a hiccup. In My Girl€™s case, this hiccup is Macaulay Culkin abruptly dying. There€™s nothing like your best friend getting killed by a bee to make a girl re-evaluate her priorities. Vada is, obviously, devastated by the death of her BFF. Throughout the film her father had been uselessly melancholy, but after a long-awaited tongue lashing from Jamie Lee Curtis at Thomas€™ funeral (best place to make a scene, second only to a big wedding), he realises he needs to be there for his daughter. I mean, if a kid's going to get killed in a film then at least there's a silver lining. My Girl is a coming-of-age film which teaches children that not even their friends are safe from the hands of death. Great.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
