11 Dumbest Things In The Worst Summer Movie Season Ever

5. Claire Keeps Her Heels On For The Whole Movie - Jurassic World

Jurassic World's operations manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) is shown to be a strong, resourceful woman from the outset of the movie, so why, oh why, does she need to spend the entire adventure fleeing from dinosaurs in heels? Even at the movie's finale, in which she cleverly lures a T-Rex into the final battle against the Indominus Rex, she keeps her ridiculous footwear on, and it makes her character pretty difficult to take seriously. Hell, Owen (Chris Pratt) even makes a wise-crack about it earlier in the movie, and had director Colin Trevorrow just showed a quick scene of Claire changing into some more practical flats, the entire controversy and resulting mockery could've been totally avoided (not that it hurt the movie's box office takings one bit). Whether you see it as merely an idiotic plot point or a patriarchal assertion that women should conform to ridiculous gender "rules" even in the event of a dinosaur attack, it's both dumb and, sadly, one of the movie's most memorable aspects.
