11 Dumbest Things In The Worst Summer Movie Season Ever
4. Cameron Crowe Gets A Dream Cast, Still Makes A Terrible Film - Aloha
Fans have been waiting 15 years to see writer-director Cameron Crowe deliver another Almost Famous, and despite a superb cast including Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Danny McBride and Alec Baldwin, Aloha proved to be another in a long line of head-smacking disappointments for the filmmaker. Though Vanilla Sky and We Bought a Zoo certainly have their fans, there was a lot of pre-release hope that a stacked cast of this caliber might help Crowe to truly find his groove once again, even if last year's Sony Pictures leak did indicate major problems with the movie. Sadly, those fears turned out to be very much true, with Crowe turning in a sappy, weird and oddly confusing romantic dramedy that presented unlikable characters and, most criminally, couldn't find anything of actual interest for its litany of stars to do. Probably the year's biggest wasted opportunity given the considerable awards potential.
