8. Jubilation
Yay! Friends! Red and the gang decide Andy's one of them now and find him some rocks so he can make some chess pieces. It seems to be going alright for Andy; we're totally on his side now, whether he committed double murder or not. They probably had it coming for being all sexually provocative, anyway. The little quirks in Andy's character are what make spectators admire him: his stoic attitude to jail, his habit of picking up rocks, his random request for a rock hammer: Red likes him, and we like him too. Some friendships on screen are inspirational, and Red and Andy's is one of them.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
