Mel Gibson has come a long way from being a universally beloved movie star to...well, not being so beloved anymore. His acting career has never recovered from past outbursts, though he has popped up in things like The Expendables 3 in recent years. He was offered an olive branch in the form of The Hangover Part II during his dark period, where he would have had a cameo as a crazy tattoo artist the main characters run into. He never got to shoot any of it though, as the idea wasnt popular with some people. Why He Was Fired: There was a borderline mutiny with the cast and crew, who refused to work with Gibson. Apparently one unnamed actor in particular had strong moral objections, and wouldn't budge over the issue. Gibson was quickly replaced by Liam Neeson, who was then cut out and replaced with yet another actor when the scene needed to be reshot, and Neeson was unavailable.
