11 Famous Musicians Who Made Much Better Actors

10. Jack White

Jack White has successfully turned himself into some sort of guardian of contemporary blues music, despite the fact that he has in effect been churning out nostalgic 60s/70s-style garage rock for the better part of 15 years now. A favourite of indie fans and classic rock fans alike, he's actually contributed more than most to arguments about how retrospective and backwards-facing music is. This overrated rock star needs to do music a favour and try to further his acting career for a while. He hasn't done much (a few cameos here and there, a small performance as Elvis Presley in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) but his turn as Georgia in the critically-acclaimed Cold Mountain was genuinely excellent and truly emotional. He's not in it all that much, but he captivates in the few scenes that he spends onscreen. This is in a film alongside titans such as Donald Sutherland, Natalie Portman and Philip Seymour Hoffman. If White can hold his own in such esteemed company, then surely he has the ability to make a full career out of acting?
