9. Courtney Love
Hole aren't actually very good. Admit it. Of all the awesome grunge bands to emerge in the 1990s, Hole were actually remarkably plain. Courtney Love's chaotic lifestyle and celebrity marriage to Kurt Cobain granted the band far more recognition that it ever merited, and the fact that they continue to tour today is pretty ridiculous. However, Love can act. In fact, she can absolutely blow away pretty much every other performer that she works alongside. The People Vs. Larry Flint was adored by critics, yet it wasn't just the performances of highly visible and popular character actors Woody Harrelson and Edward Norton that grabbed the headlines. It was also Love's turn as stripper Althea Leasure that had jaws dropping in cinemas globally. She was nominated for pretty much every award going (except for the Academy Awards, sadly) and won all but two of them. For someone that had effectively been written off by the media as a drug-addled rock star, she had proven herself to be an unbelievably gifted actor. Maybe she should finally start acting full-time and let the rest of her band crawl back into whatever Hole they came from.
