11 Hidden Star Wars Movie Details You Never Noticed

1. Obi-Wan's Farewell

Star Wars Goodbye Old Friend
LucasFilm

Revenge of the Sith is by far the most necessary of the Prequels, as it gave us the true backstory behind Anakin Skywalker's turn to the dark side.

We watch the conflicts he has with the Jedi Order, whilst also being coaxed in by Palpatine's promise of keeping Padmé alive through the dark side of the force. Of course, he ends up having a fallout with the Jedi Order, as well as Padmé who eventually dies in childbirth (although Anakin believes himself to be responsible for her death). This all leads up to Palpatine's plan coming to fruition, as Darth Vader is born.

You might not have noticed it, but Obi-Wan actually foreshadowed this earlier on in the film, though. Before going off to face General Grievous, the Jedi Master sends Anakin off with "goodbye old friend". Unfortunately, it truly was a goodbye to his friend, or rather, his brother. Obi-Wan wouldn't encounter his apprentice again until their battle on Mustafar, and by that point, Anakin Skywalker was already consumed by the dark side.
