11 Horror Sequels That Were Actually Better Than The Original

Unfriended is a good found-footage horror film, but it hardly felt like a story that needed a sequel; luckily, Blumhouse went down the sensible route of doing an unrelated horror story with the same format. Better still, this narrative about an internet ring of murderers is more interesting than the supernatural ghost story in the original and, in the end, this packs a considerable punch.

Dark Web is far better than it had any right to be. A twisted, twist-filled and brutally suspenseful thriller, this will keep the viewers guessing and on the edge of their seats at every turn. Better still, it has a cast of well-acted characters that we care about and the romance between the protagonist and his deaf girlfriend is genuinely really touching.

Dark Web is definitely an upgrade over its predecessor, which was solid but suffered from being repetitive and from having a detestable cast of characters. With a more interesting and less repetitive plot, as well as far better characters, Dark Web is ultimately a more successful thriller.
