With the Chinese box office proving so insanely lucrative these days, it's little surprise that Hollywood A-listers are being paid handsomely to appear in Chinese productions to bolster their box office viability back in the west.

Inversion is one such film, a $130 million sci-fi thriller in which Samuel L. Jackson plays a Homeland Security agent hot on the heels of an American con-man (Travis Fimmel) and a Chinese scientist (Yifei Liu) he believes caused Earth's gravity to fail. Yup.

What's more, the script has a surprising amount of pedigree behind it, with Paul Haggis (Crash) and David Arata (Children of Men) co-writing. German director Katja von Garnier (Blood and Chocolate, Ostwind) is admittedly more of a wild card.

Clearly with a budget that big, the movie's not going to skimp on the gravity-defying set-pieces, and will hopefully be a suitably bats*** slice of blockbuster madness.
