3. Cops Fight Giant Nocturnal Crab Monsters (Freak Shift)

Filmmaker Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Free Fire) has been trying to get Freak Shift made for close to a decade, and with Oscar-winner Alicia VIkander recently signed on to appear, it's looking like production might actually get started soon.

The premise, in Wheatley's own words: it's about "a crew that’s built up this armoured vehicle and they go out and have to respond to 911 calls about these big monsters that have come out of the ground." He also added, "It’s about women with shotguns fighting giant crabs."

You had us at "giant crabs", to be honest. Wheatley has proven himself a great genre director and a capable surrealist, so these two tones should collide spectacularly whenever the film finally gets made.
