11 Lame Comic Book Movies You Had No Idea Even Existed

8. Virus (1999)

virus1Virus is based on a one-off comic book about an alien life form that takes over a Chinese space vessel and reconfigures it to be evil. Kind of. The story concerns the crew of a salvage ship who arrive on the virus-ridden vessel and have to deal with the consequences. Because this was the '90s, therefore this idea had to become a movie. And it's a movie barely know outside of the twenty or so people that actually went to see it. Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Sutherland and William Baldwin, Virus is awful in every conceivable way that you could imagine it would be. I mean, the special effects are quite good for the time, but mostly this is about as generic as they come: you know exactly what's going to happen at every single moment. For the entire runtime. It doesn't help much that the characters are so unlikeable that you actually want the alien monsters to win. Jamie Lee Curtis went on to criticise the movie as one of the worst ever made. She's certainly not wrong. I myself would rather catch a horrible virus than be put through the task of watching this one again. Also it makes no sense, which, you'll agree, isn't a very good thing.
