11 Major VFX Errors You Won't Believe Were Missed

10. See Through Splash - Air Force One

X-Men: Apocalypse
Columbia Pictures

There was once a time when Star Wars was all but finished and Harrison Ford had really found his place in the industry playing the lead in action thrillers. Air Force One came out at the peak of this period and let's not forget also gave the world the immortal line "Get off my plane!"

The late '90s was a true midfield for VFX as unlike today, the industry was still very much in its infancy so it should come as no surprise that much of Air Force One relied on practical effects, but there is one shot towards the end, during the climactic sequence that almost dragged the entire film down into the Caspian Sea, along with the titular plane.

Once Air Force One hits the sea it causes a massive splash of water, which briefly rises in front of the plane. What wasn't noticed is that the CG wave shows the horizon behind it, not the crashing Air Force One. It's only actually on the screen for a second, but is really hard to unsee once noticed.
