11 Massive Questions For 2015's Biggest Remaining Films
2. Is Oberhauser Just Blofeld?
Is this the worst kept secret in cinema since everyone lied about Khan being in Star Trek Into Darkness? Surely Blofeld is in Spectre: after all, SPECTRE wouldn't be the organisation it is without the king of evil in Bond's world, and it is surely only a matter of time before the revelation. Best Guess Answer Well, someone certainly is. There's a very distinct possibility, however, that Spectre is in the process of pulling an Iron Man 3 and suggesting that one person is the main villain when in fact it's another character in the film altogether. Look at Oberhauser: he's almost a spoof of Blofeld: the ring, the job, the outfit, the bravado... He might as well be Dr Evil. It's all terribly reminiscent of how Sir Ben Kingsley looked so perfect as The Mandarin. As if it was a performance. And the fact that there's another assumed villain being consciously ignored by the marketing - Andrew Scott's Denbigh - who would fit the bill for a twist ending revelation. He's got the villain chops, and he's definitely of a sufficient profile to suggest his absence so far is intentional suppression. Would Sam Mendes really be as inelegant as to copy JJ Abrams' Khan switcheroo? Don't count it out.
