11 Minor Changes That Stopped Famous Movies From Sucking

3. Our Hero Was An Actual Pedophile In The Original Version Of Leon

Leon1 As brilliant and wonderful as Luc Besson's very French (but American) movie Leon is, we've all thought it, haven't we? Isn't there some really weird sh*t going on between our assassin protagonist and his 12-year-old companion, Mathilda, over the course of the movie? If you haven't seen the flick, it's about a contract killer who takes in a young girl and trains her to be an assassin when her family are murdered. Okay, so it's hinted that Mathilda falls in love with Leon, and that's fine - we just hope that Leon's affections are of the fatherly kind, though, right? Right. Well, the movie leans towards that argument, at least, though it's still a bit ambiguous. Let's just leave it at "it's French" and move onto the disturbing stuff. In the original script, the story was a whole lot different, and by different, I mean "Leon has sex with Mathilda - a 12-year-old child." I'm not kidding. Track down the original script: one line even sums it all up as "how beautiful it is seeing them making love." Super weird, right? Thankfully this was removed, and we could go back to being okay about Leon just murdering people, which is fine for some reason.
