11 Minor Changes That Stopped Famous Movies From Sucking

8. Neo Defeats Agent Smith (By Giving Him The Finger) In The Matrix

Neo Middle Finger Matrix The Matrix is the movie that gets made when you give two uber-nerdy siblings a massive budget and tell them to create something that blends kung-fu and science-fiction, and we can thank whoever thought that sounded like a good idea on paper, 'cause it was. The original draft of The Matrix is a little different to what we got in the end, though, in the sense that most of the dialogue was corny and terrible (there were way more one-liners) and Neo did some questionable things. And when I say questionable things, I don't mean that he wanders into a church and tries out his new badass moves on the congregation, I mean that he's way more of a douche. That's to say, remember the scene at the beginning where Neo gives Agent Smith the finger in the interrogation room? Pretty funny, right? At the end of the movie, though, the Wachowskis originally sought to make some kind of lame reference to this moment: as Neo attains his God-like status after Agent Smith shoots him, he just... well, gives Agent Smith the finger. Then Smith gets trapped in a lift. The end.
