11 Most Compelling Pieces Of Evidence That Batman Triumphant Would Have Been Great

2. Everyone's Clearly Batsh*t For Harley Quinn

Long before Suicide Squad's first trailer even landed, Margot Robbie had already pretty much stolen the movie, and it's all thanks to a shrill, mischievous villain side-kick who wasn't even invented by the comics. For some reason - perhaps it's the costume, perhaps it's the moxie - we're firmly in the Harley Quinn age of Batman fandom. The Joker will obviously always be the most compelling Batman villain, but in his besotted and fractured sometimes love interest Batman fans have found a curious queen to herald.

She's a similarly loose-cannon, and there's always been something delightfully comic-like about her as a character (because she fundamentally defies being toned down to suit a more realistic adaptation). Had Schumacher been able to convince Warner Bros to run with his pitch, he could have counted on that adoration decades before David Ayer will. And though Courtney Love was by no means confirmed (according to the script-writer at least), the fact that she was even linked to the role suggests they were looking at the right kind of casting.
