11 Most Compelling Pieces Of Evidence That Batman Triumphant Would Have Been Great
7. Nightwing
It is a disgrace that nobody has yet put Nightwing into a film. This is a world where Aquaman has his own movie coming. And where Mark Millar films seem to spring up every couple of years. But back before Marvel kicked off the idea of a shared universe in a tangible way, DC were already thinking along the same lines (so much for the theories that DC take a Human Centipede approach to their creative meetings).
They had plans, according to Chris O'Donnell at least, to spin Nightwing away from the main Batman line - presumably relocating the former acrobat and hothead to Bludhaven:
"Yeah there was at one point: Nightwing. When the reviews came out on Batman & Robin, that was shut down immediately."
The plan for Triumphant would presumably have been for Dick to graduate to Nightwing (possibly opening up a vacancy for another whiney teen to step in as Robin) and run off to his own city having clashed with Batman repeatedly over his over-bearing control. Yes, it would have had Chris O'Donnell in it, but he did actually do the Nightwing attitude well; it was just that the script behind him was horrifically poor.
