11 Most Horribly Disappointing Movie Supervillain Reveals

8. Galactus (Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer)

20th Century Fox

Still, at least Khan had the benefit of being a fun villain to watch, which absolutely cannot be said of Galactus, the planet-eating supervillain from the Fantastic Four universe. There was much excitement around the character's appearance in 2007's Rise of the Silver Surfer, which all fell to pieces when it was revealed that the movie's Galactus was, at the behest of 20th Century Fox, going to be a cloud-like entity rather than a physical being.

Even visual effects company Weta Digital knew the idea sucked, and had to convince Fox to add elements to the design (such as a helmet-like mass made of fire) that better-resembled the comic book counterpart. Still, movie Galactus was practically nothing like the version people were expecting, and his (presumably temporary) destruction was super-lame as well, with Silver Surfer flying into him, causing a huge energy blast. Despite the movie's entertaining portrayal of its title character, rarely has a movie so deliberately under-served a classic, iconic villain.
