11 Most Horribly Disappointing Movie Supervillain Reveals

7. General Grievous (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith)

Lucasfilm

There was plenty of hype surrounding the "final" entry into the Star Wars franchise, which would reveal the true nature of Anakin Skywalker's transition into Darth Vader, and present a host of new weird, wonderful and terrifying characters. General Grievous seemed to fit the "terrifying" bill easily enough, as pre-release marketing materials built him up as the ultimate adversary, what with his incredible ability to wield four light-sabers at once. The end result, sadly, wasn't that cool...

Despite his awesome potential, Grievous spends far too long coughing and wheezing as a result of both poor technological development and prior injuries sustained to his chestplate, and ultimately, this proves to be his huge, glaring weakness. Just as he is about to kill Obi-Wan, the Jedi manages to tear his chest plate open and land a few trusty blaster shots, frying him from the inside. This all takes place early on in the film, making Grievous a ridiculously underwhelming baddie, when after his show of strength in the Clone Wars animated series (where he killed multiple Jedi with ease), his presence here seems pretty pathetic.
