11 Most Untouchable Teams In Movie History
None of them is as smart as all of them!
Sometimes it takes a group of two, three or eleven to make light work of the task at hand and properly dish it out against rivals and thankfully movie history is rich with a huge plethora of heroic crews banding together to save the day. In most cases, these are action movie teams that bang the loudest guns, spout the best one-liners, overcome the greatest odds and have cemented their place in the cinematic firmament.
In addition to overcoming their differences and bringing out the best in each other, two or more characters might work so well together that their interaction transcends everything else that happens on screen and they steal every scene they are in and that’s how you make an otherwise mediocre movie about muscled mercenaries blowing everything up into bits and pieces memorable.
Maybe they’re hired guns, maybe they’ve been assigned to work together or they’re simply trying to stage the biggest heist in history. Regardless of the moral compass they hold, one thing is for sure, these committees demonstrate that sticks in a bundle are unbreakable and will stop at nothing in seeing through to the completion of their quest.
11. Ocean's Eleven
Each member of Ocean's eleven brings a unique skill to the table – In the Steven Soderbergh's revamped Eleven, there's a dichotomy of the cool cons (Messrs. Damon, Clooney and Pitt) and the oddballs - starting with The Amazing Yen, The grease man in charge of all the dangerous physical stunts is- a Chinese acrobat who for some reason speaks entirely in mandarin but seems to understand English perfectly.
The technical know-how of alleged Cockney Basher Tarr (Cheadle) juxtaposed next to the sweaty electronics expert, Livingston Dell (Jemison) and the gnarled wisdom of Carl Reiner all function together to take care of the mega scheme from the left field.
In the first film, all the pleasures of the meticulous, ingenious heist are spectacularly reflected in their plan to simultaneously relieve three Las Vegas casinos of $150 million. Regardless of how much dough is up for grabs or Danny’s love escapades, the eleven men remain calm, confident and tackle the refined coup with a casual attitude.
And at the end of it all the charming anti-heroes (minus the apprehended Danny Ocean) settle for a climatic post-heist moment wherein they astonishingly watch the fountains erupt at the Bellagio, as the camera tracks the men one by one before they all go their separate ways. Classic!
