11 Most Untouchable Teams In Movie History
5. The Expendables
"The
Expendables" is the name of an indescribably cool elite group of capable mercenaries
led by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), including his right-hand man Lee
Christmas (Jason Statham), small-scale martial arts expert Yin Yang (Jet Li),
firearm fetishist Hale Ceasar (Terry Crews), the well-read muscle, Toll Road
(Randy Couture) and psychopathic Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) who together
stir up a fictional banana republic putting an end to the corrupt undertakings
of the CIA.
As luck would have it, Barney is a very caring leader showing great concern for his fellow killer comrades evidenced by his remorseful reaction to the death of Billy the Kid. On the other hand, Barney's closest friend and former SAS soldier, Lee Christmas struggles with his inner conflict and allegiance to the team and his girlfriend Lacy whom he initially intends to marry.
Certainly, the toughest struggle in making the movie must have been bringing all these alpha animals under one accord while ensuring each iconic action star had his own moment, if only to satisfy their respective fan base. Even though some characters stand out more than others, the only drawback is that the battle scenes are plagued with such quick cuts that it’s oftentimes hard to tell who’s getting their butt kicked and by whom.
