11 Movie Franchises We Wish Weren’t Dead

One of the reasons why The Hunger Games was so great was because it bravely broke convention and positioned a female protagonist front and centre in Hollywood. In some ways, it also empowered an array of films, such as the Divergent series, The 5th Wave and the upcoming Wonder Woman, to emerge.

And though the ending of Mockingjay Part 2 is fairly conclusive, there are still many questions yet to be answered. What happened to Gale? How will the games be taught? Is there a world beyond Panem? And we never really see President Snow die, do we?

There's definitely scope to return.

Could There Be A Comeback?

With exception to empty rumours and teases of a fifth instalment, there are no solid grounds for a comeback.

Although the books have served their cinematic purpose, that doesn’t necessarily stop filmmakers from extending the series, with some already hinting at a prequel. But with Jennifer Lawrence firmly finished with the franchise, chances of this ever really taking off are slim.
