4. Christopher Nolan Will Direct A James Bond Movie
Warner Bros.Christopher Nolan is part of an elite group of directors that also double as a brand name, and are awarded the budgets and creative freedom to make any kind of movie they want, which is hardly surprising given the fact that his last three movies have earned almost $3bn at the box office. Currently putting the finishing touches to the highly-anticipated sci-fi epic Interstellar, many are wondering what the director will choose as his next project. Although it seems likely to be a smaller affair after four vastly expensive projects in a row, one day Nolan will take the helm of the James Bond franchise. The director has made no secret of the fact that he is a huge fan of the cinematic adventures of 007, with Inception's globe-trotting plot and snow fortress action sequence the most obvious examples of those influences, while Nolan also cites the scope and scale of the Bond franchise as a cinematic 'jumping-off point' for the Dark Knight Trilogy. There were rumors that the director held informal talks about Bond 24 before Sam Mendes decided to return, which is almost ironic considering that Mendes name-checked The Dark Knight as a direct influence on Skyfall. Given that he likes to have control over every facet of the production (which could pose problems given the power producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli hold over the series), Christopher Nolan won't direct a James Bond movie until after Daniel Craig's tenure as 007 comes to an end in order to put his own spin on the franchise. Nolan also likes to use the same actors in several of his movies, so could we see collaborator Tom Hardy as cinema's most famous spy one day? Or will it be Michael Caine?
