11 Movies That Would Make Great Theme Park Attractions

3. The Fast & The Furious

Fast-furious-the-fast-and-the-furious-movies-23782402-700-475 This is another idea that I touched upon in a recent article about Universal Orlando and I think it would be brilliant. The Fast and the Furious franchise is an extremely popular series of movies which all centre on illegal street racing and heists. As a result, they are - just as the title would suggest - fast, furious and action-packed and a ride based on the franchise would have to be equally so. As a matter of fact, there has actually already been an attraction based on the franchise at Universal Studios Hollywood €“ "The Fast and the Furious: Extreme Close-Up" was a demonstration of some of the effects used in the movies €“ but it has been shut down and wasn't quite what I would have in mind to make the most of such a theme. Utilising a similar format to Test Track at Disney's Epcot as its inspiration and as an incentive, the ride could be a car-based thriller (whereby the cars are fixed to the track) and could offer thrills for petrol-heads on a flat track €“ because if Test Track proved anything, there's no need for such rides to go upside down to provide white-knuckle thrills. Perhaps a race element could be utilised, similar to Dragon Challenge (formerly Duelling Dragons) at Universal's Islands of Adventure. The ride would be both current and popular and would undoubtedly provide thrills for even the most hardened thrill-seekers.
