This Liam Neeson survival drama was sold as Liam Neeson punches wolves in the face!, when it was really Liam Neeson and a bunch of guys slowly come to accept their inevitable deaths. Which isnt nearly as catchy, so they were probably right to go with the marketing hook they did. The story has a bunch of oil workers crash landing in Alaska and slowly getting picked off by hungry wolves. Its a sombre mood piece really, with very little of the promised wolf punching action. Some people were angry about this as it feels like its building towards a final battle between Neeson the last survivor and the alpha wolf. The final scene sees him prepping for it, the music builds as they stare each other down and then... it ends. A brief shot after the credits shows the dying pair lying side by side, defeated, (although at least Neesons character didnt go down without a fight). There was an alternative ending shot where the fight was shown, only for the director to cut it since it wasnt necessary. He was probably right, as the fight wasnt the point of the movie. Still, a punch or two would have been nice.
