11 Movies Where NOBODY Survives To The End

8. The Grey

This Liam Neeson survival drama was sold as €œLiam Neeson punches wolves in the face!€, when it was really €œLiam Neeson and a bunch of guys slowly come to accept their inevitable deaths.€ Which isn€™t nearly as catchy, so they were probably right to go with the marketing hook they did. The story has a bunch of oil workers crash landing in Alaska and slowly getting picked off by hungry wolves. It€™s a sombre mood piece really, with very little of the promised wolf punching action. Some people were angry about this as it feels like it€™s building towards a final battle between Neeson €“ the last survivor €“ and the alpha wolf. The final scene sees him prepping for it, the music builds as they stare each other down and then... it ends. A brief shot after the credits shows the dying pair lying side by side, defeated, (although at least Neeson€™s character didn€™t go down without a fight). There was an alternative ending shot where the fight was shown, only for the director to cut it since it wasn€™t necessary. He was probably right, as the fight wasn€™t the point of the movie. Still, a punch or two would have been nice.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
