11 New Star Wars Movies & TV Shows Announced For 2021 & Beyond

7. Star Wars: The Bad Batch

The Bad Batch series was announced earlier in 2020 and will follow the exploits of the titular Clone Force 99 in between the events of Episodes III and IV, who were introduced in Season 7 of The Clone Wars back in February. Lucasfilm revealed an in-depth teaser of the series yesterday, and it looks every bit as special as The Clone Wars Season 7 did when that dropped earlier this year.

The series will be written by Jennifer Corbett and Matt Michnovetz, with Dave Filoni back to executive produce. It'll dive deep into the immediate aftermath of Order 66, and how the Galactic Republic made the formal transition into the Empire we all love and fear from the Original Trilogy.

Lucasfilm animation has only gone from strength to strength over the last decade, and The Bad Batch might be their prettiest effort yet - even if the group did seem like an odd choice to focus on for a whole spin-off.

Either way, getting to see the Empire up close and personal right after Order 66 is a killer premise, and one that's looking more and more intriguing by the day.
