8. Wesley Snipes As Blade

Despite what we've said about Michael Keaton's Batman, the truly original comic book movie of the current special effects-rich generation was definitely 1998's Blade. Wesley Snipes was perfectly cast as the half-vampire vampire hunter, thanks largely to his intimidating appearance and on-screen presence and his real-life martial arts prowess. The fact that the movie spawned two sequels in an era before comic book movies were as huge as they are now is testament to Snipes' performance as the titular hero.
