11 Potential Villains For MCU's Sinister Six

Spidey has no shortage of classic villains. Which ones will make the cut?

It's no secret that for some time now, Sony has wanted to incorporate the Sinister Six into their Spider-Man films. That's part of the reason The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sucked as hard as it did: they were more concerned with setting up the Sinister Six than delivering a coherent, well-crafted film.

Maybe that was for the best, though. After all, the spectacular (pun alert) failure of TASM 2 led directly to the Sony/Marvel deal. Surely Sony would let the Sinister Six go, right? Right? Well, no. Far from it. Sony is Captain Ahab, and the Sinister Six is Moby Dick. They won't stop until they see this through, no matter the cost.

They're building their own universe of Spider-Man villains, sans Spider-Man (at least for now). Some of them COULD figure into a Sinister Six roster somewhere down the line, and as it turns out, we've already seen a few potential members in the MCU. What's more, if the Vulture's appearance in the Morbius trailer is anything to go by, Sony is looking to meld universes.

Let's operate under the assumption that the Sinister Six is, in fact, coming sooner or later. We probably won't see Sandman (since a Sandman-esque Elemental appeared in FFH). We probably won't see Doc Ock, either, since there's really been no buildup to him. We COULD, but let's focus on characters that have either A) been introduced, B) been teased, or C) make narrative sense. So, who could feasibly make up the team's roster?

11. Chameleon

Thus far, Numan Acar's Far From Home character, Dmitri, hasn't been confirmed as Dmitri Smerdyakov, AKA the Chameleon. Still, it would make sense if this enigmatic spy - one of Nick Fury/Talos' underground operatives - has some shady connections to match his shady profession and shady skillset. Director Jon Watts hinted as much, saying,

Well, Dmitri in the film works for Nick Fury and I think anyone who works for Nick Fury, they certainly have a mysterious past. We're not specifically saying that he's...but we're not not saying.

Honestly, Dmitri and his alter ego wouldn't even be a blip on the radar were it not for the setup going into Spider-Man 3 - it really, really, REALLY seems like the threequel is gearing up to see Spider-Man go head-to-head with Kraven the Hunter. Kraven is a villain that Spider-Man fans have been eagerly anticipating, and who better to usher him in than his half-brother, Dmitri Smerdyakov?

Sure, his role in FFH didn't amount to anything but a glorified babysitter, but if Marvel's playing the long game - as they're wont to do - they could be setting up Chameleon for a much bigger role in the future.
