11 Reasons Joss Whedon Can't Save Justice League Alone

1. Chris Terrio's Script Will Still Make Or Break The Movie

Amid all the chaos of this movie's production, it's easy to forget one of the most important voices in the room: screenwriter Chris Terrio.

Though Whedon has reportedly re-written extensive parts of the film, the main beats will surely remain in tact from Terrio's script, which is a tad worrying considering that he also co-wrote Batman v Superman.

Yes, BvS was basically torn apart in editing, but Whedon's ability to make gold out of Terrio's script is intensely reliant on him not repeating the same mistakes. If the plot is once again overly convoluted, Lois again feels like an afterthought, Lex Luthor remains an annoying weirdo and the digital villain is another bore, then there won't be much Whedon can do to fix that.

This film is tremendously disadvantaged by the fact that it was written before the BvS backlash took hold, and while Whedon can certainly re-shape a lot of the movie with editing and re-writes, if Terrio's core is rotten, he's going to struggle to make it anything more than mediocre.
