What The Haters Think: "Aquaman is the lamest superhero ever, and trying to force him on audiences who aren't interested is a terrible idea that's sure to backfire." Why They're Wrong: Though Aquaman is undeniably the trickiest of the DC superheroes to get right, given his water-based limitations, it does seem like Batman v Superman and the subsequent Justice League movie are going to attempt to re-fashion the character in a more gritty and contemporary way. For starters, the single photo posted of Jason Momoa as Aquaman looks surprisingly bada**, and a far cry away from the character's far goofier comic costume. It remains to be seen exactly how the character's powers will be reinvented for these movies, but you can rest assured that any awkward elements will likely be refined somewhat. Even though that might annoy those few Aquaman fanatics, it's probably for the best, and from the small glimpse of the character shown so far, it looks like they're getting a tricky character right.
