5. It's Inspired By An Amazing Comic, The Dark Knight Returns

What The Haters Think: "Batman fighting Superman isn't just an unfair fight, it's a ridiculous fanboy-bait idea which reeks of desperation on the part of Warner Bros. to quickly establish their own DC Cinematic Universe." Why They're Wrong: While the desperation part isn't completely off the mark, it doesn't mean Zack Snyder and co. are going to screw this up. Snyder has already stated that the movie will draw inspiration from (but not be an adaptation of) Frank Miller's classic comic The Dark Knight Returns, which is for sure one of the Caped Crusader's most acclaimed comic arcs. Though not everything in a comic can be adapted to the film form, the initial 2013 Comic Con tease (which quoted Batman's iconic post-fight speech) suggests Snyder, Goyer and Terrio will be plucking the most bada** and memorable parts from TDKR.
