11 Reasons The Haters Are Wrong For Batman V Superman

4. Old-School Comic Book Rules Don't Need To Apply In New Movies

What The Haters Think: "The fact that Snyder had Superman kill Zod shows he doesn't care about depicting these characters properly." Why They're Wrong: The thing that a lot of comic book fans struggle to come to terms with is that the Batman and Superman comics have their DNA in decades-old morality that's almost laughably black-and-white and simply not very plausible in the more complex, modern world. The fact that Batman and Superman aren't supposed to kill in most of their comics is rather archaic, given that life is rarely as simple as that. There is always going to be a time where killing is the only answer (as in Man of Steel), and rather than criticise Snyder for that, he should be praised for challenging the established convention, for saying, "The old school rules are stupid and unrealistic, so let's bring these characters into the modern world". That's not to say Batman v Superman will feature the pair doing much if any killing at all, but it simply demonstrates that Snyder is willing to make changes to better accommodate a "realistic" superhero movie in a modern setting.
