8. Jared Leto
When Deadline released what was purported to be the shortlist of actors in consideration to play Strange, the strangest names on the list were Tom Hardy though he is enough of a chameleon to pull it off and Jared Leto. He might have drawn adulation for his exceptional performance in Dallas Buyers Club, but Leto's focus in recent years has been on turning his band 30 Seconds To Mars into a stadium rock act with a global following, and acting seems to have mostly taken a back seat. That's not to say he isn't an accomplished actor Dallas Buyers Club proved that with aplomb and he has previous working with otherworldly projects (including horror thanks to the much derided Urban Legend). And he certainly has the look.
