7. Adrien Brody
He might not exactly be top of the hot stars list right now, having faded from top billing around the time someone decided he would be the perfect modern take on Arnold Schwarzenegger in the under-appreciated Predators (in which, ironically, he was rather good), but Brody remains a great talent. Crucially, he also has that intangible exoticness that tends to be attracted to a number of Wes Anderson's favourite muses, thanks in part to unconventionally appealing looks, and a classical bent that worked so well in the likes of The Pianist. Looking towards an Oscar winner might not be a terrible move for the character either, as it would look like a statement of intent ahead of a movie that has a number of sizable red flags not least the question of balancing supernatural elements with a serious tone. There's little doubt that Brody would be able to handle those requirements, even if he would be something of a dark horse.
