7. Watching Seven Films In A Day Will Ruin Your Grip On Reality

It's hard to watch lots of films a day. That truth is one known and shared by film festival going journalists the world over, as their readers roll their eyes and shed entirely sarcastic tears imagining what the poor loves would be like if they had to get a real job or something. But it is genuinely hard to commit to binge-watching films the same way you do with TV boxsets, because it completely messes with your ability to interact with people in normal society. That's not to say you'll immediately start doing forward rolls everywhere wielding imaginary guns or construct some form of mental illness to make yourself "interesting" in modern romantic comedy fashion: but distinguishing what is supposed to be mundane when you've just ploughed through seven wildly different genres is like trying to follow a Leos Carax film. And by the way, there is some truth in that old maxim that you'll get square eyes. Well, they'll hurt anyway.
