Though there is an undeniable sexist undercurrent to Dr. No (Bond literally refers to Moneypenny as "property" at the start of the movie), it's still hard to argue with the blood-pumping sex appeal of the first ever major Bond girl, Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress).

Her bikini-clad, beach-side debut on the shore of Crab Key is, of course, one of the most iconic scenes in the entire Bond franchise (having been parodied by both Die Another Day and Casino Royale), and with damn good reason.

Though Honey has a ridiculous name, spends most of the movie in various states of undress, has her lines dubbed over and isn't especially fleshed-out as a character, she nevertheless kickstarted an ultra-popular Bond movie staple. Moreover, she was pure glamour: not merely beautiful, but her confidence made her drop-dead sexy and a fitting match for Connery's own suave stylings.

Accepting how few of the Bond girls are significantly developed as human beings, Honey remains one of the best and most memorable, even if the series can and should do better these days.
