11 Times Movie Studios Stupidly Spoiled Their Own Secrets

7. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace's Soundtrack Listing Spoiled Qui-Gon's Death

The Secret: That Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) is killed by Darth Maul (Ray Park/Peter Serafinowicz) at the climax of the movie. How It Was Spoiled: This one's almost hilariously careless. The movie's official soundtrack contains a ton of spoilerific track titles which pretty much lay out the plot, the two most offensive of which are the fifteenth track, "Qui-Gon's Noble End", and the sixteenth, "The High Council Meeting and Qui-Gon's Funeral". Considering that the album was available two weeks before the movie came out and tons of die-hard Star Wars fans no doubt bought it, it was incredibly poor form to give away a vital plot point and no doubt ruin a crucial moment for a ton of fans who've been waiting decades for another Star Wars movie. Sure, The Phantom Menace ended up being a colossal disappointment anyway, but did they really need to title the tracks so obviously?
