3. Ultron

Ultron is the next "big bad" set to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he provides the threat that viewers are meant to believe can challenge the whole Avengers roster (complete with some new recruits) on his own in next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron. The excitement around the potential of a robot villain with a god complex was increased massively when it was announced that the intense and eccentric James Spader, of Boston Legal fame, would be playing the character in terms of both voice and motion capture. Spader's voice is perfect for the role, in a bizarrely hypnotic way, and he will bring an emotional and human side to the performance that will enable an otherwise potentially flat and monotone character to come to life in ways that very few other actors could manage (or at least that's what everyone is hoping for and anticipating). So, thanks largely to the nature of the character, the starring role of the villain and most of all the casting of Mr. Spader, Ultron is amongst the top three most anticipated upcoming characters in all of Marvel's movies.
