11 Upcoming Characters In Marvel Movies We're Most Excited About
2. Apocalypse
In the recently released X-Men: Days of Future Past, a post-credits scene sees a massive gathering of people in ancient Egypt. They are chanting "En Sabah Nur" - the real and original name of Apocalypse - as the almighty mutant stands using his incredibly powerful telekinesis to build the pyramids (essentially lifting billions of tonnes in the process) while his Four Horsemen watch on in the background. Of course, the X-Men: Apocalypse movie was first announced by Bryan Singer in December of 2013, but this post-credits scene with an appearance from Apocalypse in his original form has sent excitement through the roof. Finally, a monstrous enemy comes to the X-Men movie franchise. Magneto has provided a worthy foe for the titular heroic mutant team, but it's time for a new big bad to enter the fray and really give Wolverine, Professor X and their buddies something to think about. In the comics, Apocalypse possesses high-end telepathy and telekinesis, teleportation, technopathy and energy manipulation, as well as superhuman physical statistics (like strength and durability) and a genius intellect and, if he is presented in such a way in live action, the whole team of X-Men could be in big trouble. His Celestial technology provides him with further augmentation and his monstrous blue appearance is a far cry from any live action X-villains to date. He is truly one to look out for.
