How He Could Die: Rick Flag Sr. sacrificed himself in the comics, so that's one potential method if they want to give the nod, and considering that Flag is one of the more thoughtful and warm-hearted members of the group, it wouldn't be too shocking if someone of that disposition didn't last long being surrounded by a gang of psychopaths.

Why He Probably Won't: Flag is a senior Suicide Squad member and in some versions even a leader, so it's not likely at all, especially as the role was originally planned for Tom Hardy, and he's definitely the kinda guy you want sticking around for a franchise. Plus, in a group of absolute nutcases, he seems like the "audience character" we can relate to and see the story through.
