Marvel: 11 Ways The MCU Is Definitely Laughing At You

9. Howard The F*cking Duck

Not so long ago, Howard The Duck was an embarrassing punch-line to the comic book movie joke. The profane, horribly scarring movie was the brainchild of George Lucas in his most frivolous stage, and the reaction from fans and cinema audience was inevitably explosive. In short, the film killed Howard as a viable property (just as Bob Hoskins killed Super Mario's credibility), and there were precisely zero tears shed. But then, fast forward 28 years and the end of Guardians Of The Galaxy is greeted with whoops of glee, because the same character appeared. With literally no reparatory work done in the meantime. That was the exact moment Marvel probably realised they could get away with pretty much anything they wanted.
