7. Teasing Tobey Maguire

Despite the sins of Spider-Man 3, few comic book movie fans would have been unhappy if both Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire returned to a fourth Spider-Man movie. Those sentiments now count for a lot more now that Sony's decision to recast and reboot has fallen flat. There will always be some feeling that Sony messed up in cutting off Raimi's series, and that there is unfinished business, so when Marvel teased a link between Age Of Ultron and that Spider-Man series, things got very exciting. All it amounted to was a special mention for Spider-Man composer Danny Elfman, but it was enough to suggest at least a brief Easter Egg tying the universes together. But now it all looks like it was a prank: Spider-Man might be teased, but there's no way it can be Maguire (no matter how perfect that would be for the unmasking scene in Civil War).
