Salary: $100 Million (Estimated) Despite the studio putting on their happiest face for the public, its no secret that Men In Black III was a badly troubled movie. It started shooting without a second or third act, and it had to shut down for a few months while they tried to figure out the story. While the movie appeared to be a big hit, when the budget, marketing costs and various back-end deals are taken into account, it wasn't really worth the effort. Will Smiths fee and percentage deal sliced a lot off the final gross, since he made an estimated $100 million from the movie. His behind the scenes behaviour may not have helped either; he had his own team of writers coming up with new scenes and even demanded a set be torn down because it didnt feel right to him. All this messing around caused the production costly delays, which drove the budget ever higher. Smiths typical demands priced him out of the Independence Day sequel, and while there are plans to go ahead with another Men In Black (including a possible crossover with 21 Jump Street) Sony have all but ruled Smith out of returning.
