An incredibly prolific actor, having turned up in one-episode roles across an endless amount of American television (IMDb lists nearly a hundred credits), Andy Umberger is also a frequent collaborator with Joss Whedon. Whedonites will no doubt mostly know Andy Umberger for his recurring turn as Anya's hellish boss D'Hoffryn, the sardonic leader of the vengeance demons, across seasons three to seven of Buffy. As he plays that role under prosthetics, it is easy to miss the fact that he also appeared in two other Whedon productions - as different characters on both Angel and Firefly. In Angel's first season he played Dr Ronald Meltzer in an episode appropriately called I Fall To Pieces, as Umberger's character was a surgeon-turned-sorcerer who could detach and reattach his limbs. Umberger also turned up in Firefly's pilot episode Serenity (confusingly the same title as the movie) as the captain of the Dortmunder.
