12 Actors Who Admitted Doing A Movie Purely For The Money

2. Michael Caine - Hoagie (Jaws: The Revenge)

Michael Caine has always been pragmatic about his career. If he gets offered something great than he€™ll take it, but since truly good roles don€™t come around that much he€™ll take anything that pays. This philosophy helps explain why he€™s often the best thing about resoundingly awful movies. One of the most infamous examples of this approach is Jaws: The Revenge, the fourth and mercifully final instalment in the Jaws franchise. Sir Michael only worked on it for a week, which unfortunately was the same week he won his Oscar for Hannah And Her Sisters. So he missed collecting it in person because he was busy filming a movie about a revenge-seeking shark. He was shooting in the Bahamas for a large amount of money however, so that helped take out the sting. Before release he said he took it because he thought the script was good, but afterwards admitted it was just a well paid holiday. Of the movie itself he said €œI€™ve never seen it but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific!€

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
