12 Actors Who Admitted Doing A Movie Purely For The Money

8. Richard Dreyfess - Richard Nelson (Poseidon)

Richard Dreyfess was pulling absolutely no punches while promoting the Poseidon remake. In the movie he played the supporting role of a suicidal gay architect that gets caught up in the struggle to survive. Sounds like an interesting character part, which must have intrigued him since he apparently retired from acting a few years before making it. So when he was asked in an interview what brought him back, he said €œMoney.€ And when asked what attracted him to Poseidon in particular he said €œThe money they offered.€ For the rest of his interviews about the movie his excitement didn€™t raise above that level. It was refreshing to see such honestly, though the studio probably wasn€™t happy with him. Poseidon sank without trace (sorry) though Dreyfuss was ultimately quite good in the role; showing that even when he€™s phoning it in he€™s got too much talent to be actively bad.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
